What FSA does
Food safety and hygiene regulation across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Enforces food law, provides guidance to food businesses, investigates incidents. Approves food businesses handling products of animal origin. Administers Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.
Works with local Environmental Health Officers for inspections. Scotland has separate body: Food Standards Scotland.
