Milestone 4 of 9 Trading with Northern Ireland

Apply for the UK Internal Market Scheme

Authorisation lets you declare goods 'not at risk' and move them without a full customs declaration.

To be authorised, your business must be established in the UK, have a good customs and tax compliance record over the past 3 years, have no record of serious criminal offences related to your economic activity, and be of good financial standing.

If you are established in Great Britain, you also need an indirect customs representative in Northern Ireland, such as the Trader Support Service. If you are established in Northern Ireland, apply with your XI EORI number. Keep evidence that the goods are for sale to, or final use by, end consumers in the UK for 5 years.
