Budget 2026: what changes for businesses and when

The Budget published on 28 October 2026 leaves the headline rates of Income Tax, National Insurance and VAT unchanged. It changes business rates relief for retail, hospitality and leisure properties in England, raises the National Living Wage to £13.21 an hour, changes capital allowances, halves the Business Asset Disposal Relief lifetime limit and sets new VAT rules for online marketplaces and invoicing. Most changes start in January or April 2027.
