Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
Defines Client, Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Designer and Contractor dutyholder roles for every construction project. F10 notification to HSE required for projects lasting >30 working days with >20 workers simultaneously, or >500 person-days.

Building control approval required before starting most construction work. Approved Inspectors (now 'registered building control approvers' under BSA 2022) provide an alternative to local authority building control for non-HRB work. Building Safety Act 2022
Statutory dutyholder roles (Client, Principal Designer, Principal Contractor) under BSA mirror but extend CDM 2015 for buildings work. Higher-Risk Building (HRB) regime applies to residential buildings ≥18m or ≥7 storeys: BSR is the building control authority and gateway 1/2/3 approvals are required at planning, pre-construction and pre-occupation.
