Breach of packaging waste obligations
Unlimited fineIf you fail to meet your legal duties under the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 – for example not registering, not reporting the amount of packaging you handle, or not paying the required contribution – you can be prosecuted. Conviction can result in an unlimited fine and, in the most serious cases, a custodial sentence. The exact penalty depends on how the breach is dealt with by the court.
