SI 2022/578 prescribes the forms of notices to be used under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Part II (as amended) — section 25 landlord's notices, section 26 tenant's requests, and related communications. These are purely procedural requirements for private commercial landlord-tenant relations; there is no regulatory body that oversees or enforces the use of correct notice forms. Disputes about notice validity are a matter for the county court between the private parties. This SI is essentially subordinate procedure to the 1954 Act's private law regime.
