If you take bookings for overnight stays in Wales of 31 nights or less, you must register with the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA). Registration is open now, and you must register by 31 March 2027. This applies to hotels, B&Bs, guest houses, self-catering properties, holiday lets, caravan parks, campsites, and hostels. You do not have to register if you do not take bookings (for example, friends or family stay for free) or you are no longer taking bookings for overnight stays.
Registration is mandatory regardless of whether your local council adopts the visitor levy. If you take bookings for overnight stays in Wales of 31 nights or less, you must register.
