Deal with VAT, PAYE, insurance and remaining contracts after the sale.

If you sell the assets as part of a business that is a going concern and the conditions are met, the sale is a transfer of a going concern and you must not charge VAT on it. If you stop making taxable supplies, cancel your VAT registration. Close your PAYE scheme once your employees have moved to the buyer, cancel or transfer your insurance, assign or novate any remaining contracts, and tell your customers, suppliers, bank and regulators.
