Step 3 of 4

Contact the Assessor for your council area and submit a formal proposal to alter the valuation roll entry for your property.

Write to the Assessor setting out which property you are challenging
State the grounds for your proposal (error, material change, or comparable evidence)
Include supporting evidence (rental data, surveys, photographs, comparable valuations)
Keep a copy of your proposal and all supporting documents
Continue paying your rates bill while the proposal is being considered
