Pay the data protection fee

Organisations, including sole traders, that use personal information pay a yearly fee to the Information Commission unless they are exempt.

If you hold information about customers, staff or suppliers, or use CCTV, you are likely to need to pay the data protection fee to the Information Commission (formerly the ICO). The Commission's self-assessment tool tells you whether you are exempt and which tier you pay.
