Childminder — Early Years Register: £35 application + £35 annual
Childminder — both registers: £35 (joining the Childcare Register alongside the Early Years Register is free)
Childminder or nanny — Childcare Register only: £103 application + £103 annual
Childcare on domestic/non-domestic premises — Early Years Register or both registers: £220 application + £220 annual
Childcare on domestic/non-domestic premises — Childcare Register only: £114 application + £114 annual
Reduced fee (childcare on premises): £35 if you provide childcare for less than 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, or 45 weeks a year
Childminder agency registration: £220 application + £220 annual
Processing time: Around 12 weeks from acceptance of a complete application (agencies up to 16 weeks)
First inspection timing: Within 30 months of registration

Determine which register(s) you need: Early Years Register for children aged 0-5. Compulsory Childcare Register for children aged 5-7. Most providers register on both for flexibility.
Complete online application: Apply through the Ofsted online portal. You'll need personal details, DBS certificate number, premises information, and proposed opening hours.
Pay registration fee: Payment is required to process your application. Keep receipt for business records.
