What ASA does
UK's independent advertising regulator across all media including online, print, TV, radio, and social media. Applies the UK Advertising Codes written by the Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP). Investigates complaints and can require advertisers to withdraw or amend misleading, harmful, or offensive advertisements.
Self-regulatory body funded by advertising industry levy. Works with Ofcom (broadcast ads) and CMA (misleading claims). CAP provides pre- publication advice via Copy Advice service.
