What ACAS does
Statutory dispute-resolution body providing conciliation for Employment Tribunal claims (early conciliation), collective dispute mediation and arbitration, and authoritative codes of practice (disciplinary and grievance, flexible working, settlement agreements). Not an enforcement regulator — statutory role is conciliation and guidance.
Additional information
Codes of Practice issued under ss.199-202 Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 are admissible in Employment Tribunals. Covers TUPE, collective consultation, unfair dismissal.
