Advertise unlicensed remote gambling in Northern Ireland

6 months imprisonment

If your business advertises any form of remote gambling that is not held under a licence from the Gambling Act 2005 to people in Northern Ireland – whether the ad is placed in NI or sent online and aimed at NI audiences – you commit a criminal offence. On conviction you can be sentenced to up to six months’ imprisonment, an unlimited fine, or both. The offence is tried in the Magistrates' Court (summary procedure).
