The Marine Insurance Act 1906 codifies private contract law governing marine insurance policies between commercial parties. Disputes are resolved by the civil courts (typically Commercial Court or Admiralty Court of the High Court). The FCA does not enforce the 1906 Act itself — it regulates marine insurers' conduct and solvency through its own rulebook. No regulator administers or enforces the 1906 Act as a distinct instrument.
