Step 1 of 4

Welsh language requirements apply to your work when you are contracted by a public body that is subject to Welsh Language Standards. This includes councils, NHS bodies, police forces, national park authorities, and many other Welsh public organisations.

If your contract involves delivering services to the public, providing customer-facing communications, producing documents, or running events on behalf of the contracting body, Welsh language requirements almost certainly apply. The requirements flow through your contract terms — check the specification and conditions.

If you are a private business with no public sector contracts in Wales, Welsh Language Standards do not currently apply to you directly.
