Step 4 of 4

If the Assessor does not agree to your proposed change, your case will be referred to the local Valuation Appeal Committee for a hearing.

You will receive a hearing date from the Valuation Appeal Committee
Prepare your case — organise evidence, comparable data, and any professional reports
Decide whether to represent yourself or instruct a surveyor or solicitor
Attend the hearing and present your case
The Committee will issue its decision — if successful, your rateable value will be amended and overpaid rates refunded

No cost to appeal

There is no fee for the Valuation Appeal Committee hearing. If you instruct a professional, their fees are your responsibility.
