Before appealing, confirm your property's rateable value and compare it with similar properties nearby.

Look up your rateable value on the Scottish Assessors Association website (saa.gov.uk)
Note the tone date (the date on which the valuation is based)
Search for comparable properties in your area with similar size, use, and condition
If comparable properties have lower rateable values, you may have grounds for a proposal
