Step 2: Get mandatory SuDS approval

Wales is the only UK nation with a mandatory SuDS approval requirement. Since January 2019, most new developments involving more than one dwelling or a construction area of 100 square metres or more must obtain approval from the local authority's SuDS Approving Body (SAB) before construction can begin. This is a separate consent from planning permission.
