UKCA Product Marking

Check if your product needs UKCA or CE marking. For most products sold in Great Britain, you can use either UKCA or CE marking. Some products, like medical devices and construction products, have different rules. You must keep a UK Declaration of Conformity for 10 years.

• Choose UKCA or CE marking for most products sold in GB
• Use CE marking for products placed in Northern Ireland
• Use UKCA marking for products with separate rules (e.g. medical devices)
• Place UKCA mark on product – minimum 5mm height
• Draw up a UK Declaration of Conformity before selling
• Keep the Declaration of Conformity for 10 years
• Show the Declaration to OPSS if they ask
• Use a UK Approved Body for higher risk products
• Self-declare conformity for lower risk products if allowed
• Until 31 Dec 2027, you can put UKCA on a label or document
