UKCA Product Marking

You can now choose to use either UKCA or CE marking for most products sold in Great Britain. Check if your product needs UKCA marking. If it does, ensure the marking meets size and visibility rules. Keep a UK Declaration of Conformity for 10 years.

• Check if your product is in the 21 covered regulations
• UKCA marking must be at least 5mm tall
• Marking must be visible and legible on product or packaging
• Keep UK Declaration of Conformity for 10 years
• Use English for UK Declaration of Conformity
• Higher-risk products need UK Approved Body assessment
• CE marking now accepted indefinitely for 21 product types
• Different rules apply for medical devices and construction products
• Northern Ireland uses CE marking with possible UKNI addition
